Art at Kafka's: Jocelyn Fisk-Schleger
In a new collaboration with Kafka's Coffee, Art Rental & Sales showcases a rotating selection of artwork at the Kafka's Great Northern Way location on the Emily Carr University campus. For the past 10 years Kafka's has positioned itself as a community hub, proudly supporting local artists by providing them with a high-visibility venue in which to exhibit their work. This collaboration provides an opportunity to promote AR&S artists and our program, and to reach new audiences outside of the walls of the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Art at Kafka's: Jocelyn Fisk-Schleger
Jocelyn Fisk-Schleger's minimalist aesthetic brings inner calm and clarity to both her lens-based and colour-block canvas pieces. By eliminating distractions, the essence of the subject is exposed. The spatial relationship of simple forms and distinct colours leads the viewer's focus toward balance and contrast.
The Colour Dialogue Series juxtaposes colour with basic shapes, showing how they relate to one another. This conscious, spatial expression using acrylic on canvas results in a flat architectural representation of structure and form.
This exploration of architectural form is also evident in Fisk-Schleger's LensScapes work, where black and white photography enhances simplistic spatial dimension.
