Artist Statement

Nan Goodship has been working continuously for the last twenty-five years in a variety of media, mainly ceramics, and painting with watercolor or acrylic. Her previous study in Ikebana and calligraphy has informed her search for elegance in the most ordinary plants and brush strokes. Goodship is influenced by the natural world such as the forest and the ocean where she often walks and takes photographic notes and later uses them as inspiration for her work.
