Lives in Vancouver, BC
Krista Jahnke is a photographer and designer whose practice is informed by her interests in both modern art and design ideologies, and in the trivialities of everyday life. With an interest in the history, function and psychology behind place and popular commodities, her photographs depict overlooked landscapes and objects. Her work explores ideas of consumerism and the power of representation. Jahnke’s work has been exhibited internationally in galleries and public spaces. Her series, Same Soup Different Flavour: 100 Pairs of Converse Shoes, was part of a year-long exhibition at Vancouver’s Burrard SkyTrain Station and her architectural photography was included in the recently released documentary, Coast Modern.
