"Art is my literature, and it speaks for me and others when we are not seen, heard or understood.

My approach to my artistic practice is informed by art made by indigenous peoples throughout the globe. I am particularly inspired by the Bogolanfini textile technique from the Bambara people of West Africa. 

I use my work to examine social construct and the relationship between the judge and the judged within a post-colonial North American landscape. I often combine pre-modern techniques of our indigenous ancestors with modern tools using a  minimal colour palette. Each symbol in my work represents an individual or an event that collectively tells a story. "
