Artist Statement
Leanne Christie is an oil painter who creates complex paintings using powerful brushstrokes and a sophisticated manipulation of white paint. The Vancouver skyline, streets and inhabitants have become the subjects in much of her work. Her practice is informed by her exposure to the Grahamstown group of South Africa.
